Le harnais Switchbak offre le confort rembourré d'un harnais pour chien de tous les jours avec poignée, ainsi que la possibilité de transporter de petits objets essentiels. Les deux poches zippées discrètes permettent de ranger les objets indispensables au quotidien, comme les sacs de ramassage, la laisse ou les friandises.

Il dispose de deux options d'attache pour la laisse : un anneau en V centré sur le dos et une boucle en sangle renforcée sur la poitrine, idéale pour rediriger les chiens qui tirent sur la laisse. La sangle ventrale rembourrée est essentielle pour un transport stable de l'équipement et pour donner un petit coup de pouce avec la poignée à profil bas. Dans l'ensemble, le Switchbak allie confort et commodité dans un harnais performant prêt pour la ville et le sentier.

    Lots of features

    Bought a L/XL for a 6 month old golden retriever puppy. It's big on him, but he's definitely going to grow into it quickly. The straps are highly adjustable, especially the chest strap, and have inner sleeves to hide any excess material. I was able to completely shove the belly strap inside of it's hidden inner sleeve. The pockets are a bit tight near the seams, but hold plenty. I was able to fit a standard ball, several rolls of waste bags, a pouch of treats, a 6 foot leash, hand sanitizer, dog wipes, and a waste bag dispenser inside of just one pocket without much fuss. The pockets also hold a standard 16.9 oz water bottle easily, with room to spare. It looks seamless when empty, which I appreciate. I almost wish it came with color patterns on the sides due to all the empty space.

    The material itself is thin and stiff, but feels very durable and water-resistant. The straps specifically surprised me with how thin they were. I don't think getting caught on something would break or tear the harness, but a dog could definitely chew through it. Luckily, because of the thinness, it would be easy to fix with a sewing machine. The buckles are a cheap plastic. Considering the price of this harness, I feel like it should've been metal; but they seem easy enough to replace if they break. The zippers are high quality metal though, which i feel is more important anyway. I was also worried the front leash attachment would be flimsy, but it is, in fact, very durable.

    Replacement

    I bought this to replace an existing Rugfear harness as the webbing had split. Whereas that sounds poor I calculate our dog has clocked up 8500-9000 miles in it. So it had given good service.

    Ruffwear seem to gave improve the design extending the breast plate into a full gusset spreading any pulling over a bigger area.

    An extra loop at the front for tags.

    Location of the clips under cover is also good.

    Bought the pocket version, not sure why. Ok for keeping additional ID.

    Nice new range of colours.

    Overall quality excellent as before.

    Perfect day pack in the mountains of CO

    After a couple seasons hiking with my favorite 55lb adventure buddy in the Switchbak, it's become the perfect single day hike pack. The contents you choose need to be a bit thought out due to limited pouch space and the need to balance the weight in each pouch; however, once you dial it in to your needs, the Switchbak really shines. I keep my guy equipped with basic essentials anytime we hit the trail. One side of this pack gets completely filled by his emergency evacuation sling. The other side includes a small diddy bag of first aid supplies tailored to him, a spare leash, a Ruffwear anti-smelly pack out bag for his poops, and the trail runner ultra light bowl for quick water/snack breaks. Other small items like an extra poop bag roll or a small hand towel could fit here as well, but I prefer it when the pouch I need to access most often isn't absolutely stuffed to capacity. Since this is my pup's day hiking pack, extra layers and boots aren't typically necessary, but they'd be held by me in my pack, since this isn't the most space friendly option. Food and water in my pack as well (for multiple day endeavors outdoors, see the Approach pack). The handle on the back is a requirement for me. Being able to pick up my pup in the mountains to either help him along tricky terrain or lift him away from possible danger is a must, and a poop bag dispenser fits nicely there as well!     Lightweight hiking harness
