Frequently Asked Questions
With the right preparation and planning, yes, you can set you and your dog up to have a blast paddleboarding together. We always recommend your dog wearing a PFD (personal flotation device) like our Float Coat™ for swimming support if they end up in the water, and a handle to help assist them back on board. Check in with your vet if you're just getting started to cover any questions you might have specific to your dog's health.
Dogs spending time in and around water can benefit from a life jacket or PFD, regardless of their swimming ability. It's a great way to support them in the water if they get fatigued, especially in moving water. And, with the handle on the Float Coat™, it's easier to assist them back on a SUP or in a boat.
Yes – with a little practice and the right gear, your dog can join you kayaking. Sit-on-top kayaks offer the most room for a canine passenger, and a Float Coat™ Dog PFD/Life Jacket is key for added safety when your dog is joining you. Packs some treats, too, if your dog is just learning to get comfortable on a kayak.
