Load Up™ Dog Car Harness

After you spend some time getting the straps right it is nice and secure. My little guy seems to think it’s comfortable.

I had the nightmare experience: a deer ran in front of my car on the highway and the car was totaled. Air bags deployed and it was an incredibly violent impact. I had my dog in the car, wearing this harness, strapped in to the seatbelt in the backseat and he was completely fine. If he hadn’t been in the harness he absolutely would’ve gone through the windshield. I cannot express enough how grateful I am. Thank you Ruffwear for making this harness, thank you so much. To anyone considering this product, know that I’ll never have a dog in the car without this harness for the rest of my life!

Me and Mumford (English cocker spaniel) are about to be hitting the road and travelling around for the next few years. I wanted to make sure we had something safer for him given the amount of time we’ll be travelling. But it also needed to be comfortable for him. This checked all the boxes. Mumfy loves it and it’s super quick and easy to get on and off him. I feel much happier with something that’s been crash tested.

My Pittie X is 3 1/2. He rolled down the car window and jumped out to play with another dog. I ordered this so I can still take him and not worry about him jumping out the window. He let me put the harness on no problem. Getting him to sit in a certain seat so I could buckle him was another thing. Once he was buckled and headed on a drive, he did great. He is still able to move a little and lay down if he wants. He doesn't try to get out of it at all. He did try to jump out when I opened the door when we got home. That will take training. It seems to be made very well. Fit my 80 lb Pitt snug but not awkward.

This is very sturdy with metal buckles. I strap it in the center seatbelt in the back of my Honda CRV so I can hook it up without the lap portion of the belt. My dog has plenty of room to move around, sit, or lay & I can feel secure that she won't go through the windshield if we come to a sudden stop. It also has a lot of padding to help prevent injuries from the straps of the harness. Hopefully I won't ever be able to give a review on how well it holds up in an accident! I feel a peace of mind that she's a lot better off with it on than without it if something happens.
