Measurement is determined by your dog’s chest girth, measured around the widest part of the rib cage. Coverage may fit slightly shorter or longer depending on your dog’s proportions. If between sizes, size up for a more relaxed fit, or down for a more snug fit.

When shade is low and the mercury is high, dogs can count on the Swamp Cooler™ Vest to help keep the adventure going. Strategic material choices and design offer solutions for the challenges that hot-weather exploring presents. The light-colored fabric reflects solar radiation, while wetting the vest activates our Swamp Cooler™ Tech for that refreshing, just-stepped-out-of-a-lake feeling also known as evaporative cooling. Just give it a soak, put it on your dog, and go. When it dries, re-soak it to recharge it.

The Swamp Cooler™ Vest includes side-release buckles for easy on/off and a leash portal so it can be worn over a harness – topping off the essential features to make it our highest-coverage cooling option in the Swamp Cooler™ Collection. Three-Layer Construction

Wicking outer layer: reflects heat, facilitates evaporation to disperse heat, and offers UPF 50+. Absorbent middle layer: stores water for evaporation. Mesh lining: keeps dog dry and comfortable.

While each style of Ruffwear apparel is designed for its intended use, this guide generalizes our fits in three ways. The Swamp Cooler Vest is a Relaxed Fit with vest coverage and side-release buckles for easy on/off.

A must for really warm weather
I definitely have it with me on warm days. Works well to the point my dog was panting and then cools enough he is no longer panting from being hot. It is durable and not too difficult to recharge.

This is worth every cent!
My time out on the trails in this hot weather was limited by how long my 9 yr old Husky could tolerate the heat. I was amazed at how cool he felt under the vest - compared to the rest of him! Of course, we still took frequent breaks for drinks and a cool down in the shade - but this vest certainly kept him cooler. We could both enjoy the trail!

Swamp cooler
Purchase made for our dwarf pinscher who is about 14 years old and still very active.
She has difficulty taking walks in the evening since the hot weather (even if it is 23/25 degrees on a late walk), she gasps quickly. With the fresh coat, no more panting problems, she stays cool and gallops happily!
We are very happy, when the temperatures are a bit too high but reasonable for walking, she can enjoy as if nothing had happened with her vest!
After an hour of walking she is still fresh under her vest without being cold, the material used is great!

Just buy it!
I have standard Bernedoodle who, due to my schedule, has to take walks in the middle of the day in SLC. Quite often it’s 100 degrees here. This vest is amazing. Her body feels so cool underneath the vest. I was worried her hair would get wet under the vest, but not at all. Plus, she seems calmer in it and her stamina has significantly improved in the heat. She really loves it.

Refreshing jacket for a dachshund
